I have several suggestions. I tried this and they all worked on my two dogs.
Do not use both, but at times separate.
Cut avocado slices.
A small amount of linseed oil, plus food joints, etc.
Salmon Oil is sold in stores of feed for animals. Choose a good brand.
A small amount of olive oil.
Canned fish, such as a party. Small amounts at a time.
Be careful not to give your dog, large quantities of oil at a time. A little each day there coat a shine.
The promotion of a natural diet for good skin and coat.
Search on Yahoo or Google for raw diet for dogs, sometimes called BARF diet (bones and raw food, I know, ugly name LOL)
There are also some great raw food group in Yahoo Groups. Get involved! The raw food takes care of the dogs inside to outside. Including the coat!

Previously, we had a little bacon fat in dry our dog to pay. I have no idea whether it is still, however, pointed toward it.
